Great tip to get listed on front page of Google

Seems like SEO is the hot topic in everybody’s mind these days. Why not right? Evebody wants to increase exposure to their products and services. And the best way to do it is to get listed on the front page of Google, who by the way dominates the search engine market accounting for about 70% of all internet searches.

In this article you’re going to learn a quick, and effective tip on how to get your product/service in front page of google.

Ok. So lets get to the good stuff. But first lets have a quick education moment so we’re on the same page.

You’ve all heard of myspace, facebook, twitter, etc. What do all these sites have in common? Yes, the’re all social networking sites. But they have something more valuable in common. They are all authorative, popular, high ranking sites.

The only bad thing about them is that its difficult for you to “tag” the accts you have with these sites in a way that Google can understand good enough to list them in front page of Google.

Here is a site that doesn’t have that problem. www.digg.com
Digg is a collection of articles, videos and pictures about all types of topics.

So how will Digg get you listed on front page of Google?
Before I tell you the steps let me first say that every industry is different and the results experienced will also be different. A very competitive industry(i.e insurance) will be harder, if not impossible to get ranked high for, however for those local businesses or those “search terms” with little competition there is great hope.

Case Study: I first tested this theory with my step father’s virginia sod company. They sell sod which is the stuff you put down if you want instant lawn instead of planting grass seed.
Anyway, I made a digg post tagged with the keyword “virginia sod farms”, the key phrase they want to be found under in Google. This phrase also has 2.1 million competing for the same phrase.

Anyway, 3 hrs later the digg post was on 5th position which looks like this. http://digg.com/environment/Virginia_Sod_Farms_how_to_have_an_instant_beautiful_lawn

Two hrs later the post had moved in to the 10th Google spot and 2 hrs later the post made it to the #3 spot on front page of google.  Not bad for only 5 mins of work. This post eventually dropped off the front page but its now sitting on 2nd page.

Even if your post never shows up on front page of Google it will still help your rankings. See…. because digg was linking to remingtonturf.com, the site was given preferential treatment and next thing you know, 3 days after the digg post, the actual website “remingtonturf.com” was showing up on the 5th positionof Google. Basically the post helped the actual site to move up on the rankings. Its currently fluctuating between front page and second page but will hopefully settle down. If not i just have to do a couple more posts and we’ll be set again.

Ok. Steps to accomplish this.
1: Create an acct with digg.com
2: Go to “submit new” located on top right or website
3: Enter your website or blog address.
4: Select “News Article”
5: Give it a title with the “search phrase” your’re targetting. ie. lynchburg web design Follow the format from the digg post above
6: Enter your website address (www.yoursite.com) first in description then describe your product and service.
7: Follow the instructions after you finish this part and you’re done.

Just keep tabs on your listing every comple hrs so you can monitor your results. That’s it.

Tell me what you think by submitting a comment on this article. Thanks.

Its different for every industry as some may have more competitors than others but for the 5 minutes it takes to create a post and get on google Google why not do it and see how long it takes to drop off the front page.
